This article only applies to applications for first-hand housing through professional partners.
Different selection processes
When our professional partners publish with us, the majority of all contracts are allocated via queue points. However, there are other selection processes as well. Here are all the ways property owners can choose tenants:
- Strictly by queue points: Offers must be sent to those with the absolute highest number of queue points who also meet the landlord's basic requirements.
- Guided by queue points: Applications are sorted by queue points, but offers don't necessarily have to be sent to those with the absolute highest number of queue points.
- Application date: Applications are sorted only by application date, queue points are not taken into consideration.
- Random: Applications are sorted randomly, queue points are not taken into consideration.
This means that you absolutely have a chance to get housing even with very few queue points.
What criteria does the landlord follow?
Landlords for first-hand housing set their own rental requirements in our system, and these vary from landlord to landlord. Common requirements include:
- Income requirements of two (2) or three (3) times the monthly rent
- Absence of payment remarks
- Criteria related to household size and number of moves in the last three years
When you submit an expression of interest for an apartment, we match your application against the landlord's rental requirements and then present to the landlord which requirements you meet, as well as which requirements you don't meet.
Note that even if you don't meet a specific requirement, you may still have a chance to receive an offer depending on the overall assessment of your application. We recommend always updating and keeping your information current to maximize your opportunities.
How queue points work
As a member, you automatically start collecting one (1) point per day from the date you link your account to HomeQ. If you've had a user account with HomeQ previously, you can use your HomeQ queue points with Qasa. If you've been a member of Qasa or Blocket Bostad longer than HomeQ, you get 1 point per day you've been a member of Qasa or Blocket Bostad, up to 500 points. Your queue points are administered by HomeQ but are visible on Qasa.
If you sign a rental contract, your queue points are reset to zero. New queue points are counted from the day the landlord confirms you as a tenant to HomeQ. (This does not apply to student apartments)
