Protected tenancy is something many landlords are worried about, but it is also an area where many misconceptions can be found. What protection tenancy is about can be summed up by the fact that the tenant who is subletting the place is protected against being thrown out immediately when the rental period is over if they do not have a new accommodation. However, there is nothing you need to worry about. If you sublet your place as a tenancy, the protected tenancy comes into effect only when the rental period has lasted for more than two consecutive years, and if you wish you can cancel it. This must be done in a separate agreement and not in the lease agreement. If you rent a condominium there is no protected tenancy at all.
